On last night's show we saw Natalie go to the jury and the start of the ever popular slip and slide HOH comp. It became very obvious, very quickly that this was a two house guest race with Nicole and Corey being the only serious contenders. They immediately took separate paths with Nicole going for the big scoop first while Corey focused exclusively on the big bowl. That was a smart, strategic decision. They were covered no matter which path turned out to be the best.
Paul and James raced to the bottom with each trying to throw the comp more than the other. They each spent roughly half the comp either falling or crawling on their hands and knees. Nicole and Corey however ran like deer as they sprinted up and down the course. Nicole pretty quickly filled the smaller bowl to get the big scoop, but the ball wouldn't come out of her bowl despite the bowl overflowing. It took her a few extra minutes to finally get the ball out. Then with the big scoop in hand, Nicole soon flew past James and was a scoop or two (at most) behind Corey for the win. Corey however got the ball out first and won the HOH!
With the HOH now decided, the focus turned to who would be nominated. Paul volunteered to go up opposite James. Corey was noncommittal however. Once Corey and Nicole had some alone time Corey said he was putting up Paul and Victor. Nicole asked if he was sure, and Corey said he was. Nicole then fretted that Paul and Victor could flip James. Corey assured her James was solidly with them. Nicole still fretted a bit since they'd all three be downstairs together. Corey assured her that James wouldn't flip and that if James came up to talk to them that it would prove that James was with them.
Right on cue, James went upstairs and confirmed that he was solidly with Corey and Nicole. They finalized their final three deal and agreed that Victor is the target, but if he goes down, then Paul would go. Keeping James on their side is vital until after the POV is played. If James flips and wins POV then James could use the POV on Victor and Nicole would have to go up and James/Victor could vote Nicole out. To ensure that James stayed loyal they told James that Paul and Victor wanted him out after the bull horn guy spoke. (I didn't see any talk of that, but it could have happened as we got fished a lot in that period.)
Now we will have the nominations later today and Paul/Victor will be nominated. There will be lots of talk afterwards of being boned. Paul and Victor will suddenly realize that maybe, just maybe they should have kept Natalie instead of James and should have allied with her instead of Nicole and Corey. Paul will be mad that he threw the HOH comp, but he was too focused on James being the automatic target this week and he wanted to be eligible to win HOH next week. Now he may not be there next week. The two dummies didn't think things through last week and are now in all kinds of trouble.
Later today will be the nominations and then either today or tomorrow the POV comp will take place before Monday's eviction. Things will get exciting then. Either Paul or Victor will be evicted on Monday leaving the survivor of the pair fighting James, Nicole and likely Corey (the outgoing HOH may be playing in the final four HOH comp.) James is nearly perfectly placed right now to reach the final three. Whoever survives of Paul./Victor will be targeting Nicole/Corey if they win HOH. Nicole/Corey will be targeting whoever survives of Paul/Victor. James will likely float to the final three with little trouble. It's good for James, but I've got a feeling our final two will be James and Nicole unless Corey wins that final HOH.
