Yesterday was a fairly quiet day in the old BB OTT house. The early part of the day was spent lounging around and waiting for the live chat with Julie. BB gave the house guests purple clothes to wear in honor of Spirit Day and the new clothes helped to lift the spirits of the house.
Kryssie and the rest of the LNJ tried to figure out who on the girls' side is the evil mastermind. They narrowed the field to Scott and Alex. After initially thinking Alex, they more or less decided it was Scott. Jason has gotten the attention of Danielle (who's actually a pretty good instinctive player on the rare occasions everything isn't about her) who thinks he and Justin are trying to divert the attention from Alex in the hopes of hooking up with Alex later in the game to pick off the rest of the LNJ. Kryssie, Neeley and Danielle may now be looking to remove Jason a bit sooner than they'd originally planned, but not immediately.
Scott is ready to throw himself on the sword to save Alex this week. He spoke to the live feed watchers yesterday and admitted making a terrible mistake week one in voting out Cornbread. Had he followed the wishes of the girls they'd have gotten out Danielle and had the numbers to control the game. Scott had thought then that Shane was his most loyal partner though and had followed Shane and that one move had endangered the game for the rest of his allies and led to Monte being voted out and Alex in danger this week. He hopes that his leaving will buy Alex and the girls more time in the house as they deserve to be there. With a bit of luck none of the girls or Scott need go this week.
Julie's chat went well and everyone had fun. It's kind of neat to see Julie off the script on these chats and reacting/responding to the house guests. Julie informed the house guests that there would be three finalists for America to vote on as the winner this year. With ten house guests still in the house, that means only seven more need leave. With only seven opportunities to take out people you know/suspect would win over anyone else (Jason/Justin) those two likely moved way up on the kill lists. Presumed lesser players like Shelby will likely skate through for a while now as the house focuses on taking out the big fish. Dull witted players like Kryssie who think they're able to win over anyone won't care, but the more strategic players (Ball Smashers, Danielle, Scott) will all be looking at moving a bit more quickly to get those guys out. No sane player should want to be up against either of those two in the final three which means they've both got to go sometime in the next seven evictions. If you wait too late, you hand them the big check.
Kryssie had a series of conversations with the the girls but she had Justin hiding in the bathtub during the conversations to eavesdrop. The girls soon figured that out and when Whitney's interview with her holiness ended she shouted out "Bye Justin!" as she was leaving showing that the girls weren't idiots. Kryssie is convinced America gave her a Care Package to help her side of the house and they gave one to Scott because he's a moron who wouldn't know what to do with it. (Okay, sure.) Kryssie thinks her side of the house is like a family and it tears them apart to lose someone while the other side is just a bunch of people who couldn't care less about one another. She thinks America sees that the LNJ is a big family and loves them for it.
In a related note, Operation Konfound, Konfuse, Konsternate, Kounter Kryssie which has the immediate goal of defusing Kryssie's HOH by giving the Care Package to Alex and ultimately getting Neeley evicted seems to be moving in the right direction. (I've given Alex all 40 of my votes.) The online polls all pretty much point to Alex being the clear winner. Step two will be the Have Not picks, but they're not as vital as the America's Nominee. We need Neeley as America's Nominee to really pull this off. Then it will be up to the Ball Smashers plus Scott to pull out the POV win to finalize the deal.
Justin wants Neeley and Danielle gone soon. I'm pretty sure he'd happily get rid of them over the Ball Smashers that he now refers to as "my girls." He and Jason talked about that and Jason said it was too soon to talk like that, but I get the vibe Jason is losing interest in the Kryssie, Neeley, Danielle side of his alliance. Those three (Kryssie, Neeley, Danielle) are pretty solid and will be hard for Jason to get rid of if he keeps them together too long. He really wanted Danielle gone over Shane to help break them up last week, but Scott took out Shane instead. It'll be interesting to see if Jason sticks his neck out to save Scott this week. Justin is still tight with Kryssie and that has to trouble Jason a bit also.
Shelby's figured out that Scott and Alex made a deal with Jason/Justin for safety but seems okay with it for now. She may use that for ammunition down the road however to save her own game if it becomes necessary. The Have Nots will end at midnight tonight and Alex, Shelby and Danielle will be very happy about that. Jason is still hiding the Krackel bars, but once again was seen smuggling the bags of candy to the London Bedroom, so if the Krackel war resumes, the girls know where to look for the Krackel bars. With Shelby a Have Not the interest in finding the Krackel bars has died down a bit.
The Care Package voting ends at one o'clock ET today and the Care Package will be delivered at 4:00 PM ET today. Indications are that Alex will win it, but if you haven't voted, vote early and vote often. An Alex win would send a message to Kryssie and the rest of the LNJ, and might hasten the fractures that are developing on that side of the house. The arrival of the Care Package will likely lead to some interesting discussions in the house.
Just a commentary here. It's going to be brutal to go back to the long blackouts and endless fish/Jeff we get in the summer BB after this season. Seeing everything live has been great. Having a real schedule with events taking place at specific times has been great. Seeing everything from day one has been great. It would be amazing if CBS opted to adopt these same practices with the numbered BB in the summer.
