Another day in the BB OTT house has come to an end with the house going to sleep early (for once) to be ready for the POV comp later today. Yesterday saw the house experience something new when Justin (our crazy Cajun) accidentally opened the emergency exit in the backyard, much to the shock and surprise of the rest of the house guests. They're all given a rule book before the show and have to read it and sign each page, and apparently Justin didn't read that page about the emergency exits before signing it. BB called him in and had a nice little chat with him about that and he apologized profusely. He appears to have dodged a penalty nom/vote/eviction and got off with just a lecture.
The girl alliance of Alex, Morgan, Shelby and Whitney continues to look pretty strong. Alex isn't thrilled about working with her sister, but is dealing with it. She wants Morgan to fix herself up more and use her fake eyelashes and wear more makeup and girly clothes so they look less similar. Justin scared Alex by saying he has a hard time telling them apart and Alex doesn't want the house thinking they're sisters. They've each created a false backstory now that they hope will help keep them looking/sounding less alike. Morgan will doll herself up a bit more despite liking to be more casual and they should be okay for a while.
Shelby is in a bit of trouble right now with about two thirds of the house having big doubts about her. Jason, Kryssie, Justin and Neeley now think she's a snake as they sent her to infiltrate the "plastics" (their name for Whitney, Alex and Morgan) and report back information and while she's infiltrated the girls she's also allied with them and isn't reporting anything back to Jason. Cornbread also hates Shelby and wants her gone. Of the four girls Shelby is in the worst spot. She's not an especially good liar and a lot of her stories aren't ringing true to her fellow house guests.
So last night the final five got their safety and Justin got safety first, followed by Alex, Kryssie, Shelby and Scott. Shelby was funny as she acted like she'd won the lottery when her necklace/block pass lit up. Everyone else is just like, "Oh, yeah I guess I'm safe." Not Shelby. She got very, very loud and happy. I enjoyed that. The two who didn't get safety were Danielle and Jason. Jason took it well, Danielle, not so much. She was upset and a bit teary about it, but her fellow house guests assured her she was safe. (Not so reassuring to Jason.)
A bit later the house guests got called to the living room where Julie informed them of the twist of America's nominee where America votes for a third nominee. If America's nominee wins POV then there is no third nominee. Voting is supposed to be open until noon today, but as is typical the CBS site is having issues with the voting and it's down as I type this. (My best guess is they were getting something like 99% of the vote going to Cornbread and assumed there had to be a problem with the site, so they suspended voting while they check it out to be sure the programming is correct and people really hate Cornbread that much. Most of the voting issues seem to come when the vote is extremely one-sided.)
Assuming CBS ever gets the voting straightened out, our next vote will begin on Tuesday at 5 PM ET on the America's Eviction vote. Then on Thursday we vote on America's Care Package (no details on what the care package is) starting 1 PM ET and then on Friday we vote on America's Have Nots starting at 5 PM ET. That's assuming that CBS/BB ever gets their voting to work right.
Jason is continuing to disenfranchise even his fans with his in house behavior and may end up earning America's vote to evict. (Which will be interesting to see when that's announced. If it's announced before the house votes it could influence their vote. If it's announced afterwards it could make life more challenging for America's nominee. The house may assume we want them to vote out the guy/gal we nominated when in fact they're third on our list of house guests we want gone, but the HOH beat us to the first two.
This will be a busy day in the old BB house. They'll get up by 1 PM ET. The third nominee will be announced. (Expect it to be Cornbread which may surprise/confuse the house a bit. I don't think they anticipate Cornbread being the nominee.) Then they'll pick the POV players and the POV comp will take place at 4 PM ET. The house guests keep hoping for a big comp and I'm afraid they're going to be very disappointed this season. It looks like every comp will be something simple.
Monte has this ridiculous hat he wears that he got at Cracker Barrel that looks like it has a lemur tail on it. It's just begging me to do a Davey Crockett takeoff, but I'm not quite there yet. Maybe Wednesday morning.
