Yesterday saw the picking of the POV players and the POV comp take place. In the picking of the POV players, Paulie really felt around inside the box to try and avoid picking Victor's disc. He pulled out the discs for Davonne and Paul. Since Paul was a nominee, he got to pick a house guest to play for him. Paul had been convinced earlier that if he won he should pick a weak player (in other words anyone but Victor) to increase his chances of winning the POV. Paul chose Zakiyah.
The POV comp was the spelling comp made famous by Jeff and his spelling of Technotronic a few years back. In this comp the players have to find letters and use them to spell words. Paint was involved as many came back into the house splattered in paint. Nearly everyone made at least a nine letter word and in an odd twist, all of the words were spelled correctly. Davonne was once again upset with Tiffany after the comp as she felt that Tiffany counted the letters in Davonne's word and then raced back out to get an extra letter to beat Davonne. (To be brutally honest Tiffany can do nothing right in Davonne's eyes. Davonne doesn't trust her because she's Vanessa's sister.)
Paulie won the comp by spelling the word "sustainability." He came up with the word after reading it on food boxes in the house. House guests get so bored in the house that they'll read pretty much anything, and it paid off for Paulie. He eked out a win over the competition and won the POV. This was hailed by all as good news.
Victor was happy as he thinks the plan is to get out Tiffany and with her not winning the POV, she's still in play. He expects things to stay as they are. The rest of the house was happy because they know that Victor is the real target and they can now backdoor him and there's nothing he can do about it. Paulie had initially said he'd warn Victor before the POV ceremony, but has since learned he's not allowed to do so, therefore Victor will be surprised come the POV ceremony. (Which might take place today instead of the usual Monday since tomorrow is the Fourth of July.) Paulie is planning a speech for the ceremony that will pin all of the blame on himself so the rest of the house doesn't have to feel Victor's wrath. Paulie will remind Victor that he voted to evict Paulie last week when Paulie was on the block, so he's putting Victor up as the replacement. Paul is expected to be removed from the block. The vote on Thursday to evict will likely be unanimous with everyone voting Victor out.
After all of the POV stuff, the house broke into lots of game talk about who will be next to go. Paulie, Corey and Frank met and want to even the house up in terms of the boy/girl divide. Once Victor's gone the boy side of the house will be down three players in Glenn, Jozea, and Victor. Each of the three has one or more girls they think they control, so they're not overly worried yet, but they don't want things to get too out of control. Paulie thinks he owns Tiffany and Zakiyah and they'll do his bidding, while Corey thinks he has Nicole, and Frank thinks he has Michelle. The three guys are sure that Nicole, Davonne and Zakiyah don't want an all girls alliance so they aren't overly worried about that. (Their poor little heads might explode if they knew those three and Tiffany and Michelle were already in a five girl alliance called the Fatal Five.) Their plan is to get rid of Victor this week, then Bronte the following week. The guys aren't overly concerned about being down three guys just yet as they can nominate three girls (they're assuming they'll win HOH over the girls) and then flush out the girls one by one.
Frank then met up with James a bit later and they talked about the future evictions. Once again it was agreed that Bronte would be the next to go. Frank is worried that Paulie is too close to Tiffany, so she'd have to go next, then they could get rid of Davonne to even things out. Frank and James are sure there's no girls alliance as Davonne would have told them if there was. (Ha!)
Meanwhile Tiffany seems to be working to bring the two girls' alliance that the guys don't think exist into a super alliance of all eight girls. She's been spending a fair amount of time with the Spy Girls (Bridgette, Natalie and Bronte) and feeling them out. She's told them she'd like to see Michelle gone next as Michelle is too close to Frank and Frank's too powerful. When any group of girls get together and talk game, Frank's name is coming up a lot as a target. His game has become pretty transparent and they all know he's largely in control of the house now, so he's got a big old bulls-eye on his back right now. He has no clue he's being targeted by the girls, but he also has no clue there are two all girl alliances in the house.
In an odd twist, Natalie seems to be falling for James. She's said she'd date James and she's been planning to visit him in Texas after the show. Her dream is to become a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader (she was a Jets cheerleader) and she might be planning to move to Texas. That could be good for James.
The rest of this week should play out as expected. Victor will be the replacement nominee and go out by a unanimous vote on Thursday. The comps are all done. The only thing left is the POV ceremony and Paulie is planning to take all of the heat for that. They may still try to convince Victor that Tiffany is going on Thursday, but Victor is still the target. Bronte is currently the target for next week and seems likely to go unless she can get safety through her team winning the HOH, or her winning the POV.
There's some concern about Frank's team staying intact for too long and Bridgette could be sacrificed fairly soon to balance out the teams if the team play concept stays in place much longer. Nicole's team lost Glenn, Davonne's team lost Jozea, and this week James' team will lose Victor. Frank still has Paulie, Michelle and Bridgette. Frank won't want to lose either Paulie or Michelle since he thinks they're his puppets (and they pretty much are) so Bridgette could be expendable to him. I'm not so sure Frank isn't the member of Frank's alliance that the rest of the house wouldn't mind seeing on the block. If a girl wins the Road Kill comp this coming week, we could see Frank up there. Would the vets rally around Frank, or let him perish? I'm not sure it wouldn't be goodbye to Frank if he's on the block.
