And the storm clouds start to build. Davonne, sensing that she may be in trouble, went up to visit Paul in his HOH room yesterday. She was expecting Paul to inform her that Nicole would be the replacement when the POV is played and learned to her surprise and disgust that Nicole wasn't to be the replacement and that Davonne was. Davonne calmly tried to explain to Paul why that was a bad idea and offered the name of pretty much everyone else as a better alternative. Paul nodded and then kept coming back to putting up Davonne. Davonne reminded Paul that she'd picked him first of everyone to be on her team on the very first day and that team Big Sister should be safe with him as HOH. Paul wasn't buying what Davonne was selling.
Davonne then left the HOH room, suppressing the desire to strangle Paul with his HOH robe, and started a series of consultations with her allies in the house. Zakiyah was shocked, shocked I tell you to learn that Davonne was possibly going up as a replacement.(In fact she's known it for a while, but didn't want Davonne to know that.) Zakiyah assured Davonne that she was safe and then the pair tried to figure out how many votes there were this week and for a while were convinced all they needed were three votes and Davonne would be safe with Zakiyah, Michelle, and James voting to keep Davonne. Then they figured out it would take four votes and finding that fourth vote might be a challenge.
Davonne then went to Natalie to see if she would be vote number four and Natalie assured Davonne she was safe, but that she couldn't vote out Bridgette as she'd promised she would vote to keep Bridgette. Davonne then headed in to chat up James to be sure he was on board. James, following Zakiyah's model was shocked, shocked I tell you to learn that Davonne might be going up. (He also has known for some time that she's the target this week.) James assured Davonne that she had his support and also confirmed that Natalie would vote to keep Bridgette because they're friends and Natalie promised to keep her. James and Davonne then figured out that to be absolutely safe, Davonne would need five votes. Four would leave her vulnerable to Paul using the tie breaker on her.
Davonne's tour of the house then went to Paulie who was shocked, shocked I tell you to hear that Davonne could be going up as a replacement. (In fact, this was all Paulie's idea and plan.) Paulie assured Davonne that she was safe and Bridgette would be going home. Davonne, not being an idiot, knew full well that pretty much everyone was lying to her.
Paul summoned Bridgette to the HOH room and Bridgette, who is reduced now to hopping up the stairs on one leg due to her left knee now being injured, hopped up and chatted with Paul. Paul assured her she was safe and asked who she'd been talking too and wanted to clear up some of the stuff Davonne had told him. Bridgette cleared up any discrepancies and was dismissed with assurances that she was safe.
Michelle and Zakiyah had a discussion in the Have Nots room and Michelle realized there's a chance, just the slightest possible chance, that the guys, who are always hanging out together and excluding the girls from all game talk, maybe, just maybe have an all boys alliance. (Well, duh!) This realization seems to have at least briefly overcome some of the cattiness among the girls and Michelle is now looking around the house for girl allies. With Davonne and Bridgette on the block this week, Michelle reached out to Bridgette and had a friendly chat with Bridgette and tried to connect with her. The chat was friendly enough on the surface, but I'm not sure either girl trusts the other any further than they can throw her.
We could finally see the all girls alliance come together this week. The guys are being absurdly obvious about their plans to pick off the girls one by one with Bridgette being told much of the guy's plans to pick off the girls. Natalie's been assured by James that she's not in the immediate plans to be picked off, but the other girls aren't. The guys, following Paulie's lead are planning to pick off Davonne this week, Michelle, Zakiyah or Nicole over the next few weeks, then keep Natalie or Bridgette towards the end before cutting them free. They think they can control the nominations of Bridgette, Natalie and to some extent Michelle, and use them to pick off the other girls. (They may just find out how wrong they are.)
The girls need to pick off a guy or two before they can safely target Paulie. Zakiyah is still planning to have Paulie's babies and that complicates getting her vote to evict Paulie. Unless they can rally a few guy's votes to evict Paulie, and good luck with that, then they'll largely have to use Paulie as a pawn to ensure the other guy they put up leaves.
Later today they'll have the POV ceremony. Davonne has asked to be told before the ceremony who's going up so if it's her she can be prepared. (She pretty much knows she's going up.) When Davonne goes up as the replacement, expect Davonne to really start throwing the mud. She's already tried for the votes by being nice, now it will be time to go into attack mode. She pretty much knows now she needs to split the guy's votes and get a few votes from that group. She knows what Paulie said about Victor early in the season which she could dust off to try and pry Victor from the boys. Everyone's going to lie to her and tell her she's got their votes, but she's seen this game played before and knows she has to install doubt in their minds to get them truly on board. Victor may be the easiest guy to pry away. Corey and Nicole are Davonne's enemies since Davonne has been pushing for them to go on the block for weeks and they know it. Davonne's in a lot of trouble and she knows it. If she's to survive this week it'll take a minor miracle, or the round trip ticket in her envelope.
Davonne needs to lock in her base of supporters and try to rattle those not in her base. She needs to instill doubt about loyalties in the house and hope she can steal a few votes. If nothing else, doing this will give her a better chance if she does have the round trip ticket and comes back into the house. It's going to be a fun week to see how Davonne plays this. Expect her to work hard to rattle the house in whatever way possible. It should be fun to watch.
